Only 5 days until the day. THE day. Wedding day for Camilla and Aaron.
Wow! This post seems amazingly familiar. Seems like only 5 months ago I was sharing with you the ramblings of a proud father, watching from the sidelines as our oldest, Erica, was being swept off her feet and pledged her heart, life, and future to Ben Berry.
What I didn't tell you then is that for the past year and a half, Aaron Spong has been gently and steadily stealing Cami's heart as well. And now for the second time in just 4 1/2 months, the blog is the same.....only the names have changed.
Being a good parent is undoubtedly the toughest job in the world. The ultimate goal of parenting is to do your job so well that one day you put yourself out of business. It is thrilling to watch each child "become" who they will be and to release them with confidence that they will soar!
Some children become adults abruptly - at the hands of a single, life changing event - in response to a monumental challenge. It can be painful to watch as they lurch awkwardly forward until they finally get their bearings and steady their feet.
Other children become adults with such poise and grace that you are nearly at a loss to explain how and when it happened. It came about so gradually and softly and wonderfully that it defies words. That is Camilla. She is the perfect mixture of charm and thoughtfulness, confidence and modesty, intelligence and curiosity, strength and kindness, beauty and simplicity.
Cami has an eye for beauty, love for children and a heart for God. How appropriate that she would fall in love with Aaron - an artist, outdoorsman, schoolteacher and passionate follower of Jesus Christ. He is a good man to climb mountains and chase dreams with.
So, on May 10th, 2009 - Mother's Day - Cami and I will walk down the aisle and welcome into our lives a brand new husband and son.

Will the FotB be performing the ceremony this time? Ha! Not a chance. Once again, he will be cheering from the sidelines with all his heart.
Hey, wait a minute! Adding Aaron to the family breaks the tie and after 25 years of having all our good ideas voted down, the balance of power finally shifts back to the men. Yeah, I know.....a 4 to 3 majority isn't exactly filibuster-proof, but at least now we've got a shot!
